ADVENT - A TIME OF WAITING

We wait -- as Mary did?
Again "the Word is made flesh

and dwells among us."
Again we come to know anew our God
made flesh and dwelling among us
in each and every person who graces our lives.
As we wait we remember
Mary, pregnant with the Christ Child ?.
Mary, the first tabernacle -- the first dwelling
place of God incarnate ?.
Mary, the first chalice of the Blood of God incarnate ?.
As we wait we remember who we are ?.
a people called, also, to be tabernacle,
to be chalice ?.
We stand in awe as we remember that
the Blood of Jesus, source of our redemption,
is given to us as the "Mighty One does great
things" and "lifts up the lowly".

WE REMEMBER! WE WAIT! WE ADORE!

CONSIDER:

  1. Where do I find Mary, expectant mother, bringing God into today's world?
  2. When and where do I find a new and continuing coming of Jesus into my life? Into the lives of those with whom I live and work? Those I hold dear? he poor and suffering? The lonely, elderly, sick and weary? The forgotten and the imprisoned?
  3. When and where and with whom do I find myself called anew to adoration of the Blood of Jesus, as I live and relate, as I wait for the ever old, ever new COMINGS OF JESUS?
