October 2006 - Exploring Ecospirituality: Sustainability and Spirituality
Contemplating the spirituality of sustainability is coming to accept an evangelizer role in the 21st century if there is to be a future for humans …

September 2006 - The Spirituality of Hope
To go the way of hope…takes life on its own terms, knows that whatever happens God lives in it, and expects that, whatever its twists and turns, it will ultimately yield its good to those who live it consciously, to those who live it to the hilt.

August 2006 - Transfiguration
At the Transfiguration, the disciples are momentarily permitted to see the Son of God as He really is, but only because they have been transformed themselves.

July 2006 - The Eucharist, the meaning of life.
In the Eucharist we find the meaning of life. In the Eucharist we come into contact with the mysterious plan of God.

The adoration of the blood of Christ ought to encourage the person to be a peace-maker: to construct peace.

December 2005 - The Magnificat
Fr. John Foley, S.J. tells a story from a class in English literature that he took as a college freshman from Fr. Robert Boyle…He was a great teacher, without question, but the nub of his greatness lay in a statement he often made: "If you want to know what is happening in a work of literature, look at what love is doing

November 2005 - The Communion of Saints…
The phrase, Communion of Saints, in Greek, is `agiwn koinwnian (hagion koinonian). Literally it means the fellowship or partnership of all those who are called to be the people of God.

September 2005 - The Role Of Mary In ASC Spirituality
Mary most holy, woman of the new covenant and first adorer of the blood of Christ, shows us how to live in adoration and service. She will be with us as virgin mother, friend and intercessor as we follow Christ in his paschal mystery.

July 2005 - Eucharist

In the Eucharist, we are not only joined to Christ, whom we believe is present with his whole being under the symbols of bread and wine, but we believe that we are joined with all other Christians, with every member of the human race, and with the whole of creation.

June 2005 - Come Holy Spirit
In this first part of the year we have celebrated the death and rising of the Lord and his ascension . . . into the eternity of the Father. All of these things happened so that the Holy Spirit might be with us with one goal, to redeem the world and the people in it and to give to God this whole redeemed world. Pentecost then is the fulfillment of Easter.

April 2005 - Easter People

March 2005 - The Blood Which Reconciles
John Paul II spoke about God’s redeeming love years ago on a visit to Brazil: "The Precious Blood of Christ brings us the greatest joy of all: that of knowing that we are loved by God!" And what a peace and joy that truth brings us

February 2005 - The Call to Prophetic Witness

The prophets of the Old Testament Hebrew Scriptures acted as spokespersons for God. They were, as the literal Greek interpretation of the word prophet suggests, broadcasters of God's message. They were not foretellers but forth-tellers, who reminded their world of how life is to be lived in relationship with God.

January 2005 - Peace Making: A Plan of Action
The Sermon on the Mount spells out for us the Christian way of life. It is a statement of the values that should be ours and the virtues we should practice. Part of the sermon, known as The Beatitudes, presents these values as a challenge, as a plan of action so to speak

November 2004 - Contemplative Prayer and the Spirituality of Reconciliation
The cardinal point of this theology is that reconciliation is first and foremost the work of God, and we human beings are but agents of that reconciliation. For us to be faithful and effective agents of God’s reconciliation we must take care to be in contact with God.

October 2004 - Reconciliation and Peacemaking: The Communion Of Saints
When I was a child, and memorizing our prayers was the order of the day, I enjoyed the rhythmic cadence of the Apostles’ Creed ... Somehow that caught my poetic imagination. I don’t remember knowing what it all meant, however. For example, concretely what is the Communion of Saints?

Living Eucharist means realizing the Gospel in our everyday lives, with all the evangelical demands and contradictions.

The apostles did not expect the resurrection, in spite of all that Jesus had said to them. This is not really surprising given the culture in which they had grown up.

September 2003 - Many Cultures, One Heart: A spirituality of tenderness and compassion
There are two things within the ASC charism which speak directly to living and working in a multicultural world. How do we manage to see the world from God's perspective and respond to that world from the heart of God?

August 2003 - The Life Story of Mary
"Every life has a story" . . .and the life story of Mary is revealed to us through scripture, tradition and the teaching of the church. These sources indicate the close link between Jesus and His Mother on earth and the link between Jesus' Redemptive mystery and Mary's share in it. Through these sources we learn that the life story of Mary is intimately linked to the story of salvation history. And, through these sources we learn that the life story of Mary is very much like our life story.

What does a spirituality of the covenant look like today, especially in the light of the phenomenon of globalization (cf. nos. 36-60 of the USG document)?
