Eucharist with Retired Bishop

The retired Bishop came for Eucharist the day after the dedication. Besides the sisters there are some associates and the girls from the House of World Light. Two of the girls are acting as servers.

More than 200 friends, Associates, clergy and co-workers began arriving in early afternoon with great enthusiasm and interest to celebrate the dedication of the Central House and the House of World Light in Masan, Korea. Bishop Ahn presided at the first liturgy in the new chapel, which comfortably seats about 70 people. The diocesean choir opened with Rosemary Sakis' composition, "You Have Redeemed Us", in Korean. In his homily Bishop Ahn spoke of his long friendship with the Adorers, beginning in the 70's, when he would often celebrate Mass for the community when he was on vacation from his teaching responsibilities at the seminary. He recalled that when the Sisters first came they were poor and without a convent. "Now after 30 years they have this beautiful new building. So let's rejoice with them today!"

At the end of Mass Kwak Mi Sook presentated the traditional plaques to the architect and the contractor.

Then she graciously recognized and thanked individuals and groups who helped bring the projects to completion. This was followed with a Power Point presentation that gave a brief history of the Korean Adorers and their ministries. These services to God's people were honored by Bishop Ahn as a "quiet presence" among the people in the diocese of Masan.

Then the Sisters and guests gathered upstairs, downstairs, wherever there was a place to sit and enjoy a festive luncheon prepared by the Sisters and lay helpers from various groups in the diocese. The last part of the fun was the dishwashing and clean up by a multitude of willing workers, including a group of Scouts and the girls from the House of World Light next door.
