Symbols of our Commitment

Adorers are recognized by the distinctive silver pendants they wear --- a silver heart surmounted by a cross and engraved with three drops representing the Blood of Jesus. This symbol was designed by our foundress, Saint Maria De Mattias, to represent the congregation's commitment to promoting reconciliation.

Adorer candidates and novices --- women engaged in the formal process leading to vows --- also wear a distinctive symbol. The incomplete, open heart speaks of willingness to be open to all that is encountered in the life journey that is not yet finished. The cross that embraces the heart is a reminder that love embraces all. The small coral stone signifies the Blood of Jesus that empowers an Adorer to be a source of life for the people whose lives she touches.

Associates of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ are men and women in all walks of life who have committed themselves to live and grow in the spirituality of the Precious Blood which so motivated Saint Maria De Mattias. They, too, have a distinctive pin that is given to them when they make their final commitment after studying the charism and what it means to them in their lives.
