Adorers Visit the United Nations

Twelve Adorers were among the twenty-six members of Precious Blood communities who participated in United Nations Orientation Days sponsored by Partnership for Global Justice, a UN non-governmental organization (NGO) to which the ASCs belong. June 9-11 were the hottest days on record for June in New York, but all our perspiration did not dampen our enthusiasm for all we were learning from personnel representing some of the 30 UN NGOs that are sponsored by various religious communities and representing 122 congregations world-wide. Most of these NGOs are resources for the UN Economic and Social Council, bringing to that group’s deliberations the experience of thousands of religious working among the disenfranchised of the world.
